As many of you know, the crew at Piggy Bank Parties celebrated my mom’s 80th birthday this past weekend with a fall-themed party. My mom, Audrey, was a school teacher for over 30 years and always created great art projects for her students. Audrey and Dort decided to make one of Audrey's fall art projects as décor for the tables.
Gather the following supplies:
• 12”x 12” Cardstock {makes 2 pumpkins}
• 2 Brads per pumpkin
• 12” of Floral Wire per pumpkin
• 1/16” Hole Punch
• Paper Trimmer or Scissors
• Pen
• Silk Leaves
• Glue Gun + Glue
Ready? Here we go...
1. Cut 12" x 12" cardstock into 6 strips measuring 1” x 12” and fold in half.
2. Punch a hole at each end of the strips and along the middle fold.
4. Evenly space the strips and fold the brad ends down.
5. Stack the opposite ends of the strips on the second brad.
6. When all the strips are stacked, fold the brad ends down and “fluff” your pumpkin!
7. Wrap the floral wire around the second brad and twist each end around a pen.
8. Attach the silk leaves with a glue gun.
Audrey and Dort used two-sided cardstock and also created a smaller version of the pumpkin. To make the smaller size, you will need 4 strips that measure 1/2" x 9" each.
We hope you have fun creating your own Strip Pumpkins for your Thanksgiving table! These are a great project you can do with your kids. A special thanks to Audrey and Dort for the great tutorial!
Stay tuned to Oink! for more inspiration...
