I created the Harvest Invitation for our 5th Wedding Anniversary celebration. J and I were married in October and we love all the things that harvest time offers--autumn leaves, amazing food and awesome activites! We decided to combine them all into one celebration and one of the first things we do when planning a party is to create the invitation. Here we go...
Gather the following supplies:
- Green Grocer's Brown Bag Kraft 8.5" x 11" Cardstock
- Basis Dark Orange 8.5" x 11" Cardstock
- French Pop-Tone Hot Fudge 8.5" x 11" Cardstock
- Green Grocer's Brown Bag Kraft No. 10 Policy Envelopes
- Dark Chocolate Irish Waxed Linen Thread
- Scissors
- 1.25" Oak Leaf Punch
- Adhesive Roller
- Adhesive Mini Dots
- Printer
- Paper Cutter
Ready? Here we go...
- Design and print your invitation on the Brown Bag Kraft Cardstock.
- Using the paper cutter, trim the invitation to 3 1/2" x 8 7/8".
- Cut a 3 3/4" x 9 1/8" piece of the Basis Dark Orange Cardstock for your back layer.
- Print your return address on the back of the Brown Bag Kraft Envelope.
- Attach the invitation to the back layer with the adhesive roller.
- Punch 1 leaf from the Basis Dark Orange Cardstock and 1 leaf from the French Pop-Tone Hot Fudge Cardstock.
- Add 1 adhesive dot to the back of each leaf.
- Attach the Hot Fudge leaf to the invitation then layer the Dark Orange leaf on top at a slight angle.
- Cut an 18" length of Dark Chocolate Wax Thread and wrap around the invitation twice.
- Tie a knot and trim the ends.
- Roll up 1 adhesive dot and carefully place under the knot. Make sure the adhesive dot is completely covered with wax thread.
Hank's Hints: Creating the illusion that the invitation was made effortlessly is the difference between a "nice" invitation and a "wow!" invitation.
Ta-Da! Now address the envelopes, add your invitations and stamp-n-mail them!
