{real life} a balancing act to be thankful for

First of all, I wanted to say that I missed all of you this past week! It was a week where I couldn't find balance in my life. Yesterday I took a step back, sat down and made a huge homemade calendar to organize all the projects I have to do...deadlines...real life events...and a little time for J and I. I find this is one of the best ways for me to find perspective and reduce my stress.

Needless to say, I'M BACK! I have a fun week planned for y'all as we prepare for the upcoming Thanksgiving festivities. Ready?

Yesterday, J and I forged into the grocery store with a 2-PAGE list! Since it's normally just the two of us...2 pages is a HUGE list for us. My mom and sisters will be visiting from Michigan and I've taken over most of the Thanksgiving Dinner duties.

It may sound crazy to some...but I find preparing the big Thanksgiving meal relaxing. I have the dinner all mapped out including the serving dishes. When I do this, I get to truly enjoy the day with my family instead of spending it in the kitchen. In the next few weeks, I'll share my "Roadmap to a Party" in hopes of helping you plan and execute fun and budget-friendly parties without a lot of stress!

Are you stressed about Thanksgiving this year? Have you even thought about how to decorate your house or the table? Don't worry...we've got that part covered!

J and I designed this collection a few weeks ago and it's been in The Market...but my life's been so crazy that I never even shared it with you! Better late than never! I love the subtle details--the cross stitch background, the aged frame and the turkey. The turkey...it's AMAZING! Each feather is a brush stroke done by J's hand--STUNNING!

We are so thankful to be in this business and share our talents with others that we wanted to say, "THANKS!" The ENTIRE Market is on SALE! Everything in the store including the Thanksgiving Heritage Collection is 50% off through Thanksgiving Day!

Here's a closer look at each piece...

{a closer look}

We designed two Mini Banners--"Give Thanks" and
"Happy Thanksgiving"--which you can use on your table or buffet.
We tied the mini bunting to wooden skewers, embellished them
with ribbon and placed the skewers in apples.

We placed the Cake Stakes in an apple on a wooden pick at each placesetting.

We also added Cake Stakes to drink stirrers to finish off the apple cider.

The Party Cards include both folded and flat cards.
You can also customize the text using Acrobat Reader.

The folded cards are perfect for placecards...

...and labeling the buffet items.

Add "I am thankful for..." to the flat cards and place at each placesetting...

....or add to the centerpiece.

The Favor Bag Toppers fit standard recloseable snack or sandwich bags.

We placed our favors in a wooden jewelry box for a traditional look.

We also included scrapbook paper in the four colors used throughout the collection.

which is sale priced at $7.50 through Thanksgiving Day!

I am so thankful for this real life balancing act! I'm also grateful for you and hope you were inspired by our Thanksgiving table. Stop back tomorrow for an amazing party I designed for $30.33! Yes...an entire party for 6-12 guests on a Piggy Bank budget! Woo-hoo!

Stay tuned to Oink! for more inspiration...

  1. Love the collection~Glad you were able to re-group, every once in awhile I have to go into shut down mode myself just to breathe, catch up and re-define my priorities. I always feel so much better afterwards :)
