{real party} two showers are better than one!

Back in November, I teamed up with the lovely and talented
Heather Locker of Sugarpie to create a
for her future niece, Charlotte.

Heather sent me an email recently
with a very special photograph attached...

...our inspiration, Miss Charlotte!

Here's a peek at my favorite treat that Heather created...

...I LoVe marshmallow Wilbur!

A few weeks ago my big sis, Dorothy aka Dort, hosted a baby shower and decorated with our Charlotte's Web Collection. Here's what Dort had to say about her party...

Our church was giving a baby shower for a new couple that is having twins. Since the babies are a boy and a girl we weren't going with a gender specific theme. The shower was on St. Patrick's Day so we were thinking spring! I knew that "Hank" had my favorite piggy and pals baby shower theme...Charlotte's Web, so I asked to have Charlotte's "webs" customized for the occasion.

For centerpieces I visited the spring clearance area at two stores to find reusable silk grass in spring containers (the bags are my favorite) and put cake stakes popping out of them that said "It's a boy", "It's a girl", "Terrific Twins", "Twice the fun", and "Some Babies". The tables were covered with bright pastel tablecloths from Party City and for party favors we had "twin" mini candy bars with pastel gingham favor bag toppers (thank goodness it was time for Easter candy!).

The food table table was well labeled with party cards like, "Wilbur's Wraps", "Miss Charlotte's Chips" "Templeton's Tasty Treats" (the veggie tray) and Fern's Blue Ribbon Punch (which was green for St. Pat's Day). There were two cakes one that said "It's a boy" and one for "It's a girl" and they each had a mini banner strung over them reading "Welcome, Dennis Twins". The sign over the gift table was a large banner of multi-pastel gingham that read "Congratulations! Terrific Twins" and everyone was welcomed by a barnyard sign at the door featuring Wilbur and Charlotte.

The family was thrilled with the theme and the decorations, in fact they were having a family shower a few days following and took all of the decorations with them for future use! The mama to be took the mini banners and the table cards to use in her baby scrapbook. So several things had "double duty"!

I think Dort did a great job and I love the grass centerpieces. The mini banners on the cakes make me giggle while making my big sis a little upset. She was running out of time so she put all of the letters on one string for the girl cake. I love the big dip! She'll trust her first instinct and do two rows next time. {wink!}

Hank's Hint: To save some pennies, grow your own grass! Fill a pot with dirt, add some grass seed, water and in a few days...ta-da! {When I was a really lil' piggy, we grew grass in a styrofoam cup for science class. We drew faces on the cups so the grass looked like hair!}

The other day I received a thank you note in the mail from the couple whom the shower was for. They were so sweet to think of sending us a note. What wonderful people we "meet" doin' this lil' biz!

I hope you're inspired by Heather and Dort's parties.
It's so rewarding to see our designs in action!

I just love lil' piggy parties...hey, that's a great name for a party planning biz!

Stay tuned to Oink! for more inspiration...
