{real cards} a clothesline thank you

My mom visited the PBP (Piggy Bank Parties) headquarters a few months ago and witnessed the poor results our washer and dryer offered. She is an amazingly generous person and gave us a new washer and dryer! Woo-hoo! It has changed our lives…really! Laundry would take 3 days to finish due to super wet clothes, an overflowing drain and 3-5 cycles in the dryer. After the new additions….laundry's done in 4 hours! Amazing!

Needless to say, my mom deserved a very special thank you. Here’s what I created…

Don’t you just love the little polka dot pajamas? They are from a doodle font which I embellished with a few colored dots. The clothesline is wax thread used in book binding and basketweaving. The clothes and clothesline are attached to the folder with 1/8″ mini brads.

Hank’s Hint: Add dimension to your cards with small embellishments or pop-up adhesives. It “raises” your card to a new “level!”

Inside I created the “clothesline” font using a cursive font and adding a few freehand lines. The card’s top layer was printed on matte photo paper and mounted on a bright yellow card. Pink wax thread was wrapped around the card and attached it in place with a brad.

My mom loved this unexpected surprise. Hooray for Moms!

Stay tuned to Oink! for more inspiration…
