{real life} a little laughter every day

Our home and office are often filled with laughter. After 7 1/2 years of marriage and 10 years of owning a home-based stationery business, we try to find the humor in every situation.

Since it's just the two of us, we usually buy frozen bread dough so that we can make small loaves versus cutting a large loaf in half, double-bagging it and freezing it. It's more economical for us and there are very few things quite as good as a warm piece of bread with a little peanut butter on it. {Mmm!} My mom used the same frozen bread dough and every time I smell it baking in the oven it brings back a flood of childhood memories.

Owning a home business sometimes delays you from tending to your household duties. After a long day in the office, I walked into the kitchen to find a balloon of bread. It should have been in the oven 2 or 3 hours before. I hate to throw out food and it would still taste good...the challenge would be slicing it!

I baked the bulbous loaf and had a very difficult time removing it from the pan. Needless to say, I knew it would deflate and headed to bed. I would deal with the shrunken bread in the morning. {Ugh!}

The next morning I headed downstairs to work on some orders before the sun rose. I had forgotten completely about the bread until I saw this...

{Can you hear the whistle when he speaks?}

J had turned the sad little loaf into a one-toothed-wonder! He made my day and, once again, filled our home with laughter!

I ran across this picture a couple of months ago and it's now the wallpaper on my computer screen. Hope you find a little laughter every day!

Stay tuned to Oink! for more inspiration...
